Say what you will about Kim Kardashian and her 72 days of marriage, but you gotta give a girl credit she always looks amazing! I especially am obsessed with her hair. It’s always glossy, shiny and sexy. Kimmi K’s signature locks are easy to recreate at home with a few key tools, some product and your own two hands. Recently for a wedding I tried to recreate Kim’s signature rockabilly ponytail. This is actually pretty easy.
Kim K’s Sexy pony:
- blowdryer
- round brush
- small clear elastics
- bobby pins
- duck bill clip or a jaw clip
- Hairspray
- teasing brush
- teasing comb
- Hair extensions (optional)
Start by blowing your hair sleek and straight with your blowdryer and round brush. When hair is fully dry, straight, and cool, separate the top section basically from the middle point of each eyebrow and clip up and away from the rest of your hair. Gather the rest of your hair into a sleek pony at the crown of your head. If your hair is long or thick or you just don’t have or want to deal with extensions skip this next step. Take the pony tail and wrap an elastic around the middle. Take an extension piece and make sure the clips are open. Brush it out to remove ant knots. Starting above the elastic, clip in the first clip, and then, wrap the extension piece around the ponytail, closing the clips as you go. Repeat with two more extension pieces till you get to the top of your ponytail. Very carefully brush out the ponytail you’ve created.
Next unclip the section you clipped away and separate a small section, spray with hair spray, then tease with your teasing brush, till you’ve got the amount of lift you like. Repeat with the rest of the hair, separating into another two or three sections, depending on hair thickness.
Use the teasing comb to smooth the hair back, and take the whole section gather, and push it forward, and start bobby pinning. When done if you need to, use the comb to smooth the hair further.
Finish with a coat of hairspray.
